Background

LGBT organisation AllOut‘s Chief Executive, Matt Beard, approached SOHO with the concept of UKAGE, and requested our support in developing a website for the group.

Whilst in its infancy, UKAGE brings together Britain’s leading LGBT campaign organisations with a vision of achieving equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transexual people worldwide. By 2020, the group aims to:

1. Build an effective working coalition working to promote global LGBT rights.
2. Foster an environment in which LGBT human rights defenders and civil society in other countries can rely on UKAGE as an effective partner in their work to secure progress.
3. Ensure the UK Government and Parliament are effective champions for global LGBT rights and equality.
4. Be an influential voice with international influencers on global LGBT rights and equality.
5. Grow an active network of campaigners in the UK, supporting member organisations’ work, and joint UKAGE campaigns to support global rights and equality.

Our Work

UKAGE required only a simple website. Built upon WordPress, and thus easily maintainable by Alliance-members themselves, as UKAGE‘s focus expands, the intention is that the site may also. Developed with this in mind, the theme employed is both readily customisable, and highly extensible.
